After leaving home in rural Yorkshire, Lesley studied for a BA in Fashion & Textiles in Nottingham before moving south to London where she worked predicting colour and fashion trends for many international companies.
Having moved into magazine publishing, Lesley was part of the founding editorial team that launched Marie Claire to the UK market in 1988. After four successful years as Fashion Director, a change of interests and personal circumstances saw Lesley become the magazine’s Lifestyle & Interiors heralding a new direction for her career.
Lesley’s freelance commissions have seen her build long-standing and successful collaborations with leading British brands as both a stylist and an art director, most notably Toast and The White Company as well as working with British Standard Cupboards, Bulthaup, Cath Kidston, Dulux, Habitat, H&M Home, Laura Ashley, Liberty, Ligne Roset, Marks & Spencer, Samsung, The Conran Shop and YSL amongst others.
Lesley has also written and styled two books; Global Style and On Display, as well as styling numerous books such as Easy Leaf Tea with Jan Baldwin, Romance with Chris Craymer and Karen Harrison and Heston At Home with Angela Moore.
