Biography

Emma Lee’s background is in fine art and, she says, “I haven’t strayed very far”. Her work is characterised by its strong composition, a signature palette, and painterly sense of balance. Above all, whether it’s food or interiors, Emma’s photographs tell a story; from the outset, she says, she thinks about who is going to engage with that photograph and how it’s going to pull them in emotively.

It is this distinctive character, along with Emma’s tireless passion for her work and her infectious, feel-good energy on set, that has made her so sought-after. She has worked with brands including Aromatherapy Associates, Crabtree & Evelyn, Cuisinart, Dulux, Fired Earth, Heckfield Place, John Lewis, Marks & Spencer, Neptune, Plum & Ashby, Rowen & Wren, Selfridges, SpaceNK, Toast and The White Company. Her work has also featured in The Guardian, Food & Wine, Homes & Gardens, House & Garden, Jamie, Marie Claire Paris, Monocle and Waitrose Food. Emma has also shot cookbooks for The River Cottage and Jose Pizarro.
